kenalog injection for acne

A Kenalog injection is a corticosteroid treatment used to quickly reduce inflammation and size of cystic acne or deep acne nodules. The injection contains triamcinolone acetonide, which helps decrease swelling, redness, and discomfort associated with severe acne. A small amount of Kenalog is injected directly into the acne lesion. 

Results can be seen within 24-48 hours, with significant improvement in the size and pain of the pimple. Typically reserved for large, painful cysts that don’t respond to topical treatments. Overuse can lead to skin thinning, dimpling, or discoloration at the injection site.
